Cloud overspend is an ownership problem in disguise.
When a cloud bill doubles the instinct is to look for a cheaper instance type. That saving is real and small. The large numbers are almost always in four places, and all four are organisational problems wearing a technical costume.
Resources nobody owns
Unattached volumes, old snapshots, load balancers pointing at nothing, idle databases from a finished project, reserved addresses never released. This accumulates because deleting something you do not understand feels riskier than paying for it. Tag everything with an owner and a purpose at creation, and treat an untagged resource as a defect.

Reliability you have actually tested
Backups nobody has restored are not backups. We define the recovery point and recovery time you actually need, build to it, and then rehearse the restore — because the first real test should not be during an incident. The same applies to alerting: every alert goes to a named person, and anything that fires routinely and gets ignored is either fixed or deleted.
